Pindari & Kafni Glacier Tour

PINDARI GLACIER [3820mtrs]

 
Trekker’s Paradise - The magnificent Pindari Glacier is the most easily accessible trek in the Kumaon region of Uttaranchal. It survive with the snow sliding down from Nanda Kote and other lofty Peaks. The Glacier 4 kms long and nearly half a km wide from an elevation of 3853 to 4267 mt which is Zero Point .The treks offers views of soaring peak all the way and passes through oak forest, glades of ferns, conifers and tumbling waterfalls. It takes the name from the Pindar River, which originates in the trails pass above the Glacier.

 

KAFNI-GLACIER [4200mtrs]

 
Same route of Pindari and the route bifurcates from Dwali [the junction of two rivers one from Pindari and other from Kafni] .The one way trek is 12 kms. and one can do in a day also  from Dwali.

 

Day 01: Departure from Almora to Song 82kms/3hr Drive. From Song trek starts, Song -

            Dhakuri (2621m) & 13km trek to Dhakuri. Own Tentage. 

Day 02: Dhakuri - Dwali 19kms/8hr Own Tentage. 

Day 03: After lunch leave for Phurikia 05km. stay overnight.

Day 04: Very early morning departure to Zero Point - Pindari Glacier 06km (3820 Mtrs) and

             back to Phurakia 06km. Over night stay.

Day 05: Afterbreakfast a downhill trek to Khati. Overnight stay.

Day 06: After breakfast Khati to Dhakuri. Stay overnight.

Day 07: Dhakuri - Dwali 19kms/8hr Own Tentage. 

Day 08: Dwali - Byali Udiyar 16kms/8hr Kaphni Glacier is 12 Kms from Dwali via Byali Udiyar,

             which is at a distance of 8 Kms from Dwali. As compared to Pindari the valley is  

            much broader and the rhododendron that blooms here is spectacularly beautiful.

            Trek down (4 Kms) to Byali Udiyar. Dinner & overnight stay in camps.

Day 09: Byali Udaiyar - Dwali 8kms/4hr Own Tentage. 

Day 10: Dwali - Dhakuri 19kms/8hr Own Tentage. 

Day 11: Dhakuri - to Song, Song to Bageshwar, Night halt at Bageswar.

Day 12: Bageshwar to Peora, 10 hr Drive. Departure to Delhi at night by train. Tour endshere.

Sunderdhunga Glacier Trek

SUNDERDHUNGA GLACIER

Sunderdhunga Glacier is in the Pindar region. It is a tough trek as compared to Pindari and Kafni. Sunderdhunga means the valley of beautiful stones. This valley is situated to the west of the Pindar valley and has two glacier to offer to trekkers and nature lovers, namely Maiktoli and Sukhram. The route upto village Khati is common for both Pindari and Sunderdhunga glacier. The peaks which offer a spectacular view when seen from here, are Tharkot (6100m), Mrigthuni (6856m), Maiktoli (6803m) and Panwalidwar (6663m).Sunderdhunga is approximately 24 Kms from the village Khati.

 

Day 01: Bageshwar -Song- Dhakuri (2621m) 82kms/3hr 13km trek/6hr Drive to Song, 13 Kms

             trek to Dhakuri (2680 m). Dinner & overnight stay in camps. 

Day 02: Dhakuri - Khati- Jatoli 15kms/8hr From Dhakuri one has to go to village Jatoli, which is

             7 Kms away from Khati. From Khati follow pinder river upto Warbham - the meeting

            place of Pinder River and Sunderdhunga stream. Now along Sunderdhunga stream,

            reach Jaitoli crossing boulders ascent for night halt. Dinner & overnight stay in camps. 

Day 03: Jatoli- Dhungiya Dhaun 8kms/5hr From Jatoli (2000 m) upto Dhungiya Dhaun(2700 m),

            about 8 Kms is a tough trek. Follow along Sunderdhunga stream upto Dhingiyadhung

             for night halt. Dinner & overnight stay in camps. 

Day 04: Dhungiyadhung - Kathliya 6kms/4hr Dinner & overnight stay in camps. 

Day 05: Kathalia-Sukhram Cave (3900 m) 7kms/5hr Dinner & overnight stay in camps. 

Day 06: Sukhram Cave -Maikoli (4320 m) 7kms/5hr Dinner & overnight stay in camps. 

Day 07: Maikoli - Sunderdunga 4hr each side strenuous downhill trek along Maiktoli stream to

             Sunderdhunga and back to Maiktoli. Dinner & overnight stay in camps.

Day 08: Maikoli - Kathalia 14kms/7hr Dinner & overnight stay in camps. 

Day 09: Kathalia - Jatoli 15kms/7hr Dinner & overnight stay in camps. 

Day 10: Jatoli - Dhakuri 15kms/7hr Dinner & overnight stay in camps. 

Day 11: Dhakuri - Bageshwar 53 Kms Trek (13kms/5Hr) down to Song and drive to Bageshwar.

            Check in Hotel. Evening visit Bageshwar Temple, Night halt at Bageshwar. Tour

            terminates here.

Chota Kailash Parvatital Om Parvat

CHOTTA - KAILASH [Adi - Kailash] PARVATI TAL / OM PARVAT [5200 mtrs]

 
Located in the border district of Pithoragarh via Jauljibi and Dharchulla [Nepal border]. The trek covers the famous Ashram of Nayaran Swami and through the Vyas and Chaudas Valley. Gunji is the Junction where one route goes to greater Kailash through Kalapani / Nabhidang [OM PARVAT] up to the Taklakote. The other route from Gunji is Adi-Kailash via Kutti village. Every thing can be explore in this religious trek like fascinating Culture, Nature and adventure. From Almora it takes 12/13 days to cover whole region.

Roop Kund – The Mystery Lake


10 nights & 11 days [Grade: Strenuous]
Starts from Almora

 

ROOPKUND

Situated at a height of 5029 mts in the lap of Trishul massif. This area is usually called the 'Mystery Lake', since human skeletons and remains of horses from the age of Paleolithic age were found here. The lake is surrounded by rock-strewn glaciers and snow clad peaks. The starting point of the trek is Debal, easily approached by motor from Almora town. The route passes through lush green grassy land and conifer forests clinging onto the slopes of hills. The trek thereafter winds it's way along the Pinder river. Then to round off this trek, one can approach Homekund via Shail Samudra glacier and then move on to Ghat or Nandprayag (in Chamoli district in the Garhwal region). For the round trek, services of a guide are advisable. Famous Bedni Bugyal (meadow), on the way to Roopkund, attracts nature lovers around the world. Ghat, connected by a motorable road to Nandprayag is on the main highway to Badrinath, Chamoli district in Garhwal region.
A tourist guide, known to this region, is strictly advisable to the new comers.


Day 1: Almora - Gwaldam - Debal

Drive to Debal 78 km via Kausani, Baijnathand Gwaldam. Upon arrival set the camp for the overnight stay.

Day 2: Debal - Lohajung - Didana

Drive up to Lohajung 12 km. From Lohajung, start trek to Didana. Trek trek start with descend till the valley florr. Trek along the river and cross it near Didna village. Arrive and set up the camp beyond village for the overnight stay.

Day 3: Didana - Ali - Bedni Bugyal

Trek 5-6 hrs to Bedni Bugyal via Ali Bugyal. Initially trek passes through dense forest before coming out to clearing near ali Bugyal. Cross Ali Bugyal and descend to Baedni. This part of trek is almost level. Bedni offers excellant view of Trishul and Nanda Ghunti mountains. Overnight stay in the Tent.

Day 4: Bedni Bugyal - Bhaguabasa

Trek 9 Kms 4-5 hrs to Bhaguabasa via Bistola and Kailu Binayak. Arrive and set up the camp for the overnight stay.

Day 5: Bhaguabasa - Roopkund - Bhaguabasa

Trek 12 km up/down to Roopkund. Situated below the Jurighati Dhar, this beautiful lake is known as 'mystery lake' after some human skeletons are found here. After spending some time at Roopkund, return back to Bhaguabasa for overnight stay.

Day 6: Bhaguabasa - Bhuna

Start return trek. Turn right and descend towards Bhuna village which takes about 4-5 hrs. Camp for the overnight stay.

Day 7: Bhuna - Sital

Trek to Sital in 4-5 hrs. Trek is mostly down-hill walk following a packed mule track. Overnight in camp near the village.

Day 8: Sital - Ghat - Rudraprayag

Trek 8 Km to Ghat. From Ghat drive 29 km to Rudraprayag. On arrival check-in at hotel for overnight stay.

Day 9: Rudraprayag - Rishikesh

Drive 164 km to Rishikesh. On arrival, check-into hotel for overnight stay.

Day 10: Rishikesh - Delhi

Drive 225 km to Delhi. En route stop at Haridwar to visit Har-Ki-Pauri Ghat. Continue driving to Delhi and on arrival check-into hotel for overnight stay.

Day 11: Depart Delhi

Optional sightseeing of Delhi. Later departure transfer to international airport to board flight for onward destination.

GANGOTRI GOMUKH TAPOVAN [4463 mt]:

 

The trek passes through coniferous pine trees at Chirbasa and birch at Bhojbasa . From Gaumukh to Nandanvan, one traverses along the Gangotri  and Chatturangini Glaciers.The trek to Tapovan from  Nandanvan  involves crossing the Gangotri Glacier and  traversing on a rocky face before one arrives at the meadows of Tapovan a lush green valley in the summers, confined by the many named  and unnamed peaks of the Garhwal region. Blue mountain goats on mountain ridges is a common sight from here.

 

Day 1: Arrive-Delhi :

Met on arrival at Delhi international airport and transfer to hotel for overnight stay.

Day 2: Delhi - Rishikesh :

Drive to Rishikesh (225 km) via Haridwar. Rishikesh is known as 'Gateway to Himalayas' and center of Yoga & Meditation. In the afternoon visit various Ashrams and Temples. Enjoy the 'Ganga Aarti' in the evening. Overnight stay in hotel.

Day 3: Rishikesh - Uttarkashi :

In the morning drive (155 km) to Uttarkashi (1150 m). Uttarkashi is the base of many trekking and mountaineering expeditions in Gangotri valley. Also India's premier Mountaineering institute 'Nehru Mountaineering Institute' is situated at Uttarkashi. In the afternoon proceed for sightseeing tour of Uttarkashi. Overnight stay at Resort.

Day 4: Uttarkashi - Gangotri :

In the morning drive (90 km) to Gangotri (3048 m). Gangotri is the place where the Goddess Ganga descended on earth from heaven. Its also the road head for the trekking in Gangotri valley. Visit the temple of Goddess Ganga. Overnight stay in tourist lodge.

Day 5: Gangotri - Bhojbasa :

Trek 14 km to Bhojbasa (3658 m) following the river Bhagirathi on right bank. The trek is gradual ascent for most of the part. From Bhojbasa you can have majestic view of Bhagirathi group of peaks. On arrival set-up camp for overnight stay.

Day 6: Bhojbasa - Gaumukh - Tapovan :

Trek to Tapovan (4400 m) via Gaumukh - the source of river Ganges. From Gaumukh climb over to Gangotri glacier and cross it from righ to left bank before climbing over to lateral morain to reach Tapovan. Tapovan is large high altitude meadow and base camp for climbing Mt Shivling and Mt Meru. Overnight stay in tented camp.

Day 7: Tapovan - Bhojbasa - Chirbasa :

Return trek to Chirbasa via Bhojbasa. Chirbasa is a beutiful camping place surrounded by Chir (pine) forest. On arrival, set-up camp for overnight stay.

Day 8: Chirbasa -Gangotri – Uttarkashi :

Trek back 9 km to Gangotri. On arrival drive (90 km) to Uttarkashi and check-into resort for overnight stay.

Day 9: Uttarkashi - Rishikesh :

Return drive to Rishikesh. Afternoon at leisure. Overnight stay in hotel.

Day 10: Rishikesh - Delhi :

Drive to Delhi. En route stop at Haridwar to visit Har-ki-Pauri ghat and temples. On arrival check-into hotel for overnight stay.

Day 11: Depart - Delhi :

Day at leisure. Optional sightseeing tour of Delhi. Later transfer to international airport to board flight to onward destination.
